For Love of Mother-Not

Sold at auction for one hundred credits, a freckle-faced, redheaded boy called Flinx was raised by Mother Mastiff, flying snake and all. When she is kidnapped, the two follow across the forests and swamps of Moth. It comes first in Flinx's life but not in Foster's writing, so the back cover lists Bloodhype and The End of the Matter as later adventures. The cover is Michael Whelan's.
