The Man in the High Castle
Philip K. Dick
Vintage Books (Random House) · 1992
1990s · very good
Slavery is legal again in Dick's 1962. The United States lost a war some twenty years earlier and is occupied jointly by Nazi Germany and Japan; in San Francisco the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. Putnam published the novel in 1962, the very year it is set in, and it won the Hugo. Heidi North designed this 1992 trade paperback.
