A recluse on Earth finds a formula for crossing interstellar space and wakes in the body of a hero of Phaolon, a city in the trees of a world circling an unnamed green star. There is a princess to save. Lin Carter meant it as a salute to the masters of interplanetary swordplay, Burroughs and Merritt chief among them, and DAW made it their thirtieth book in 1972.
