Second Foundation, Foundation's Edge, Foundation and Earth (3 volumes)

The Mule's search for the Second Foundation opens these three books, and Golan Trevize's search for Earth closes them. In between, Isaac Asimov left the Galaxy alone for twenty-nine years. Second Foundation came from Doubleday in 1953, with a fourteen-year-old, Arcadia Darell, holding the secret. Foundation's Edge followed in 1982 and won the Hugo; Foundation and Earth in 1986, with Trevize needing to know that choosing Gaia was right.
